Julie Gielen | Operational Manager

Operational manager bridging the creative and organisational sides of FELT, ensuring a smooth and well-supported office workflow.

Julie joined FELT as operational manager, where she oversees the office’s internal organisation and day-to-day operations. She is responsible for finance, HR, PR, logistics, and practical support, ensuring that the studio’s creative process runs smoothly. Acting as a bridge between team members and partners, she plays an essential role in maintaining a structured, caring, and well-functioning work environment.

Before joining FELT, Julie built a diverse professional career rooted in communication, coordination, and entrepreneurship. She started out as a self-employed speech therapist — a role that sharpened her sense of empathy, planning, and precision — and later founded and managed a group practice. She went on to lead the development of CUP, a community-focused sports bar in Ghent’s Nieuwe Dokken, where she combined business strategy, project management, and team coaching.

This combination of organisational skill, human insight, and hands-on experience makes Julie an indispensable force behind the scenes at FELT. Her calm overview and pragmatic mindset anchor the office’s creative rhythm, allowing architects to focus fully on what they do best — designing.
